Over the years I've established a pretty decent collection of otaku goods. I really love the "itabeya" aesthetic of super dense, crowded rooms full of cute girls staring at you from every angle! I want every inch of my room to be covered in them! The only downside of this is that the more stuff you own, the harder it becomes to move them.
It's a curse I have in a way: I've been "adventurous" and even somewhat "nomadic" in my life in that I've had the need to pack up and move over and over again in search of a more ideal place to live. But it doesn't really reflect my deepest values: I actually care more than anything about having a place to take root and make my private little corner of the world. I'm not a big believer in our zodiac signs influencing out personalities, but I'm a Cancer and they say that Cancers are major homebodies and value a consistent place to take refuge in (a "shell") more than anything else. And I feel that a lot.
So while I am still besieged by such real-world inconveniences as having to move and wait for objects to arrive, to have a roommate who I can't be this unconstrained around, and to not be a homeowner (this might be a permanent condition...), I will instead dedicate this space as a virtual way of immortalizing the closest I've gotten to living in the kind of room I love the most.
Any good religion needs its idols, and the otaku religion puts a lot of importance in its holy engraved images: its vinyl figures. Some of these have been luxury purchases I saved up for, but some of them were surprisingly cheap, especially since I personally don't mind buying them used if they look good enough.
This is the whole collection and my bed in front of it. A very wonderful place to
rest and sleep.
The top shelf is dedicated to one of my more impressive sets: The Seven Deadly
Sins collection by Orchid Seed. Each one is a girl version of one of the sins, and
luckily my shelf has just enough space to neatly fit all seven.
From left to right: Satan (Wrath), Leviathan (Envy), Mammon (Greed).
Is is any surprise that Mammon is my favorite?
From left to right: Lucifer (Pride), Beelzebub (Gluttony), Belphegor (Sloth)
My second favorite is, also unsurprisingly, Asmodeus (Lust).
This shelf is all dedicated to Touhou Project.
All characters from Touhou Fuujinroku 〜 Mountain of Faith, which is
special to me due to its connections to
Nagano Prefecture. The only nitpick I
have is that this Aya figure has wings, which is NOT ACCURATE to her original
design!
Other Touhou figures. The Kaguya has all five of the treasures and you can switch
her arms out to be holding them.
The rest of these shelves don't have as strong of a theme, but I do what I can
to order them with some kind of thought. The main theme here is games, as most of
these characters are from games.
Phorni from Symphonic Rain, which is an awesome visual novel that everyone
should play. This is the only life-size figure in the collection, as the character is
a little fairy.
Koyori from Sengoku Blade. As a fan of miko with huge tits, I can't pass
this one up, can I? It's a cast-off figure, but the clothes are a bit finicky to get
on and off.
Makise Kurisu from Steins;Gate. A rare case where I liked the girl with the
smallest chest best. <3
Various boatsluts from Kantai Collection. You know what's more fun than
playing a shitty gacha game? Collecting figures of the sexy girls from it.
More Kantai Collection and the beginning of my Super Sonico collection,
which is immense... Being a figure collector and a bakunyuu maniac basically entails
being a Nitro+ paypig.
No real theme to this shelf but I would say that most of it is OCs or mascot
characters without a real "home" medium (even though Sonico has an anime and game
now).
Lots of Sonico and a Pochaco in there! The girl in a qipao in the background is
some OC.
A miko OC of some variety from a company that makes a lot of ero figures. Gotta
love the nips you can see bleeding through!
On the right is Iwato Kasumi from Saki: Zenkoku-hen. One of the best figures
I have... You can tell it was made for me.
To go along with Kasumi, we have Usuzumi Harumi from Saki: Zenkoku-hen.
Though Kasumi is clearly more my type, this figure is just as impressively made.
All the characters on this shelf are from anime series. Although there are some
from anime series on the above shelves too, so it's not exclusive.
Homura and Madoka in the front and Kyouko in the back. My favorite character from
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica was actually Mami but I haven't acquired one of her
yet. I love the miko Homura though.
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi is represented by Haruhi in the front
here and some slightly less impressive but still quality figures of Mikuru and Yuki
in the back.
Manyuu Chifusa from Manyuu Hikenchou. Super hot figure! But yes, she is
very dusty and I need to clean her off... It's tempting to use my tongue ^^
Random others. The two Rei and Asuka figures in the back were some of the first
figures I got. The right is Erica Hartmann from Strike Witches, which I just
happened to find. She isn't close to my favorite girl from the series, but I still
like her a lot of course. The two lolis in the front are Takayama Maria and Hasegawa
Kobato from Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai.
These may not look impressive at first glance but they are some of my prized
possessions: miniature figures from a gacha series of Eiken. The come in parts
and have to be put together, which has made them very brittle since they are older. I
had to use a lot of glue to stick the parts together at times. It's a shame that the
laws of gravity keep some of these characters from being accurate enough to the
artwork. You can tell that even with her oppai a fraction of the size this Komoe
figure is still tilting forward, haha. I also cannot figure out how Gustav's hand is
supposed to fit into the socket.
This is a separate shelf which is just a bunch of figures that are too big to fit
on the bottom shelves. But some of my best figures are here! (Minus the one bootleg
Gantz figure in the background with a bad face that my friend gave me when he
was trying to get rid of stuff).
The fertility goddess herself... the thundering queen who brings us back to the
days of Willendorf... Super Pochaco. She needs a bit of a cleaning though.
Some quality Sonico figures. In the background is Michael (Faith), from Orchid
Seed's parallel Seven Heavenly Virtues meant to augment their Seven Deadly Sins
series. Unfortunately, I was unable to acquire all seven and probably won't because
it would be hell on the wallet. It's a shame because they look awesome, especially
Sariel (Kindness) who might have even bigger knockers than Mammon.
Finally, a figure with tits that are big enough for me!
Saya from Saya no Uta. One of the most gorgeous figures I own.
